Diane Venet, a French art collector and wife of the world-famous French sculptor Bernar Venet, is the owner of one of the most unique, most emotional and, in a sense, also one of the most intimate collections of art in the world which consists of more than 200 pieces of jewellery made by artists and is being collected for over twenty years. The essence of these works of art can be described as small-format objects.
Venet calls her collection an “intimate museum” not only because it is so compact and fits into a couple of boxes, but also because artist jewellery is essentially a key that combines private history and the history of art in a very special way. Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti, Georges Braque, Salvador Dalí, Robert Indiana, Louise Bourgeois, Sol LeWitt, Robert Rauschenberg, Lucio Fontana, Bernar Venet, Wim Delvoye, Roy Lichtenstein, Michael Craig-Martin, Andres Serrano, Jeff Koons and Anish Kapoor are only some of the names of Venet's collection being presented in the Cupola Hall of the Latvian National Museum of Art.
The unique exhibition will be held at the Latvian National Museum of Art located right opposite
the Gallery Park Hotel & SPA from November 3 - December 3, 2017. It is the very first time the exclusive collection will be exhibited in the Baltic States.
