GRAND OPENING OF THE FULLY-RESTORED AND MODERNIZED LATVIAN NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ART

With attendance to surely be high, the curators at LNMA have put together a stupendous programme as doors re-open after major reconstruction. First is a new permanent collection of Latvian art /19th-20th century/ - in the old building's second and third floors. Second, two seminal talents of Latvian art will be given a deserved spotlight - Miervaldis Polis and the late Boriss Berzins. The Polis show has been given the title: "Illusion as Reality" and it will be displayed in the new lower level annex. The Boriss Berzins (1930-2002) has been christened "Silver/Gold", and it can be viewed in the old building's 4th floor rooms.

Modernized indeed, the Museum will now offer WiFi, "chill out" zones or rest areas, a cafe/restaurant and a souvenir shop, and it will now be wheelchair friendly.
