GET ACQUAINTED WITH RIGA BY BOAT !

It is possible to view the historical center of Riga and many of the city’s landmarks from a different angle, by taking a boat ride through the city’s canal and the Daugava River, and even to the coastal resort city of Jūrmala.

Of the various river-boats offering cruises on the Riga Canal, the most notable is the 107-year old river boat called "Darling", which is built in the Art Noveau style. Three other river boats also offer cruises on the canal – the "Rebeka", "Laima" and "Maria", which have been constructed as copies of the "Darling". The special design of the boats allows visitors to see Riga from a different angle, as they calmly navigate through the city center. The river-boats have several stops on its route through central Riga – Bastejkalns, the "Stockmann" shopping center, the "Radisson Hotel", Andrējosta and Kronvalds Park.

Meanwhile, the river-boat "Vecrīga" offers several different boat rides on the Daugava River – a one-hour "Riga Panorama Trip" where visitors can view the historical center of the city, and a two-hour "Sunset Trip", which will take passengers to where the Daugava River flows into the Baltic Sea. The boat accommodates up to 150 people. You can feel the breeze and the sun while sipping a delicious cocktail on the open upper deck, or sitting on the cozy lower deck cafe and modern passenger salon with panoramic windows. Both decks are equipped with the latest sound and light technology and a spacious kitchen, which means you will be able to enjoy a good meal. There are also two restrooms. The boat is also for hire for private events.

Meanwhile, the motor-boat "New Way" offers scenic rides on the Daugava and Lielupe rivers between Riga and the coastal resort city of Jūrmala. The boat picks up passengers on the Daugava River stop at the 11th November Embankment opposite the Dome Church, and from the Majori pier in Jūrmala. It is also possible to hire out the "New Way" for private parties or other events.
