We live on the shore of one of the most polluted and vulnerable seas in the world: the Baltic Sea. Using the medical terminology, the Baltic Sea shows 5 severe symptoms.
First – the sea is obese, second it suffers from oxygen deficiency and third, our patient shows risk prone traffic behavior. Furthermore, its bladder leaks and it uses drugs. We all have in our hands the chances to save the Baltic Sea – only we must to acknowledge this important fact and find sustainable solutions and diagnoses of “the patient will survive”.
In order to insure that rescuing the Baltic Sea remains high on the political agenda in all Baltic Sea counties, the Baltic Sea Summit took place in St. Petersburg on April 5 -6, 2013. The Summit brought together Heads of States from Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland and other European countries, as well as public authorities, representatives of the business world, scientific organizations and non-governmental organizations – those who have made a commitment to rescue the Baltic Sea as the highest priority.
Gallery Park Hotel & SPA – the only luxury hotel in the Baltic region was invited among other delegates as commitment maker to the Baltic Sea Action Group foundation.

Baltic Sea action group, BSAG, is an independent non - profit foundation based in Finland. The mission of BSAG is to revive the ecological state of the entire Baltic Sea and whose work is based on a constructive cooperation among all levels of society, including the highest political level, public authorities and the private sector.
